However, there is that one thing that all of us hate after a paint job aside from the clean-up, of course. That is, the lingering smell of paint that can leave you with a headache if you are exposed long enough.

Getting rid of the paint smell

That annoying smell of paint is due to Volatile Organic Compounds or VOCs. VOCs come from the ingredients used for paint making, hence that all-familiar smell of paint. Unfortunately, this is the last thing that all of us have to endure after finishing a paint job whether you paint your bedroom walls or your kitchen cabinets.

Thankfully, there are already paint brands available with low VOCs. Meaning, the paint scent is still there but only subtler. Nonetheless, the smell is still unmistakeably there. The good news is there are easy ways to get rid of paint smell using household items. For one thing, you should use these products way before the beginning of the painting project.

Natural products that can help absorb the smell of paint

Getting rid of paint smell need not be expensive and difficult to prepare. All you need is to prepare the following household items at the start of your painting process.
